The Fresco Collection

The Fresco Collection is a curated body of one-of-a-kind stoneware inspired by the weathered walls of ancient Orthodox churches, monasteries, and sacred places where prayer has lingered for centuries. Rather than pursuing uniformity, each vessel is built through successive hand-painted layers of mineral glazes, iron washes, and carved inscriptions that recall the quiet beauty of aged frescoes. Soft transitions, worn edges, and naturally varied surfaces evoke the appearance of objects shaped by both fire and time. Every piece bears the visible marks of the handmade process.

The Fresco Collection by DOXA & STAVROS is a curated body of one-of-a-kind stoneware inspired by the weathered walls of ancient Orthodox churches, monasteries, and sacred places where prayer has lingered for centuries.

Carving, brushwork, glaze movement, and the unpredictable character of the kiln become part of the finished work, ensuring that no two vessels can ever be repeated.

The collection carries sacred words in Greek, Arabic, and other historic languages of the Orthodox Christian tradition. Ancient prayers, Scriptural passages, liturgical hymns, and holy proclamations are carved into clay, allowing each object to become both functional stoneware and a quiet witness to the enduring life of the Church.

The Fresco Collection reflects the conviction that beauty is deepened by age, craftsmanship, and reverence. These are contemporary works created in conversation with the visual memory of Orthodox Christianity, objects that feel less like newly made pottery and more like artifacts shaped by prayer, preserved through fire, and discovered anew.
