DOXA & STAVROS Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: February 7, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing and commissioning work from Oak & Scripture (“we,” “us,” “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers.

2. Commissioned Work & Process
Our pieces are made-to-order, custom heirlooms. The process is collaborative:
-
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to initiate design and secure your slot in our production schedule.
-
Upon deposit, we will provide a design for your approval. Once approved, the piece moves into production. Changes after approval may incur additional fees and delay.
-
The remaining 50% balance is due upon our submission of final photos for your approval, prior to shipment.
-
All timelines (typically 6-12 weeks) are estimates. We are not liable for delays due to material availability, kiln firing results, or acts outside our control.

3. Pricing & Payment
All prices are in US Dollars. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information.

4. Shipping & Risk of Loss
We ship via insured carriers. Shipping costs are your responsibility and will be calculated at checkout. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon our delivery of the item to the carrier. It is your responsibility to file any claims with the carrier for damage in transit, though we will provide full assistance.

5. Return & Refund Policy
Due to the custom, personal, and heirloom nature of our work, all sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or offer refunds for change of mind. This policy is integral to our craft.
If an item arrives damaged, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographic evidence to initiate an insurance claim.

6. Customer Care & Communication
Our primary method of communication for commissioned work will be email. It is your responsibility to provide a valid email and monitor it for design approvals and updates. We are committed to clear communication throughout our collaborative process.

7. Privacy & Data Safety
We respect your privacy. Information collected during checkout (name, address, email, phone) is used solely for order fulfillment and communication.
-
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
-
Payment information is processed securely through our PCI-compliant payment gateway (e.g., Stripe, Shopify Payments); we do not store your credit card details.
-
We may use your email to communicate about your order and, if you have opted in, to share news about our work. You may opt-out of marketing emails at any time.
-
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, but no online transmission is 100% secure.

8. Intellectual Property
All designs, concepts, and finished artworks are the intellectual property of Oak & Scripture. You receive the physical heirloom and the right to possess, display, and gift it. You may not reproduce, copy, or create derivative works from our designs for commercial purposes.

9. Product Use & Safety
Our pieces are decorative heirlooms and devotional objects.
-
While made from durable, medium to high-fired clay, they are not indestructible. Handle with care.
-
If a piece is intended to hold a candle (e.g., a lantern), it is your responsibility to ensure safe use: never leave a burning candle unattended, place on a stable, heat-resistant surface, and keep away from flammable materials.
-
We are not liable for misuse of our products.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oak & Scripture’s liability to you for any claim is limited to the purchase price of the item you have commissioned. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the state in which our studio is principally located, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
